Simply stated, it is the land that water flows across or under on its way to a stream, river or lake. Everyone lives in a watershed and is a part of that watershed. How you treat the soil, water, air, plants, and wildlife not only influences what happens in your immediate watershed but also in the larger watersheds downstream. It is important for the future health of both people and the environment to realize the relationship and interdependence between ourselves and the land and water we depend upon.
